The Silicon and Resin came in the mail yesterday!!! Now we can cast our forearm control pads and the accutators/aereators for our helmets.
First Austin had to prep the originals for casting. He had to clean them with Alcohol and fill all the holes and spaces with Sculptey.
After the originals were prepped, he then made boxes out of foamcore board.
Let the casting begin.
First you pour in the silicon.
Then you add a silicon agent and stir it. It turns blue after this.
You then pour it into the molds and let it sit over night to cure.
Austin brought one of his silicon molds to show how the resin works.
Tony worked on his shoes (using mine as reference).
Tony also worked on this butt piece and belt.
I added some details to the blaster barrel.
Then I cut the aluminum (or as Tony says "Aluminium" (Allue-min-eum)) to make the gun stock rails. Figuring out how to attach them was a pain, but it was very similar to the custom E-11 blaster I made a few years ago.
I then primed the blaster.
