Armor Trimming, Assembling, Painting, Helmets, Shoes and Detonators - August 3rd, 2008

It was up to 106 again today. Rick and Tony came over as well as Chad and his son (who just completed Basic Training and will be leaving for Iraq on August 18th). Good luck, thanks for serving our country and our thoughts and prayers are with you!!!

Tony spent the day trimming and assembling his armor. Everybody pitched in as well as working on their own.

Rick trimmed out the vinyl for his shoes and I finished my shoes. Top vinyl flaps, strap and connectors are added. I modified mine with a snap on the connector so I could take my shoes on and off.

I also worked on the thermal detonators today. I trimmed and cut pvd pipe into four sets and assembled them for everybody. They still need to be painted and attached to the belts.

Added the buttons to the front piece. I drilled my holes too closely. I'll correct that after the premiere.

I spent the most time today masking and painting my helmet. Once again, because of the heat, the tape did hold everywhere and I had a few oversprays. I touch it up after I've assembled the helmet.

Jacen and his new helmet. I'll be making him a Foamie Clone Trooper suit for the premiere. More to come on that in the next few days.
