Assembling my Armor - July 22nd, 2008

Since nobody was able to show up today, I spent all morning and afternoon trimming and assembling my armor. I've decided to go with a mix of seamless and seamed pieces. It just will depend on the assembly. On the seamed, I will glue one side and have velcro on the other side. I started off with the forearms.

And then moved on to the biceps. These will be seamless so I will bondo and sand the joints.

Then came the thighs. On the left, you can see how much I trimmed off so they would fit on my short legs. When we started this project, we intentionally made the bucks larger to create a "one size fits all" armor pull. On the right are both thighs trimmed out.

My stack of trimmed pieces.

And finally, my full suit of trimmed and assembled armor. Now I need to start velcroing and strapping the armor for wear. I plan on doing a clam shell assembly on my chest/ab and back. Stay tuned for the next update. That's where the fun begins!
