Working on the Bucks - April 2, 2006

Well, after almost a month!!! We got to work on the molds again. The Oklahoma weather was unpredictable and cold. Nobody wanted to work in a cold garage, so we haven't put any time in the project since last month. But, we made great headway yesterday. Phillip and Tony chipped in some "project funds" and have officially become part of the team. They concentrated on sanding and patching the already constructed bucks, trying to smooth them out as much as possible. I continued my job of assembling and glueing the foam to make the forms. Rick Y., Austin Y. and Rick W. were all working on sanding specific molds. Pieces left to create, shape and plaster: Chest, Back, Crotch/Abdomen, Butt/Lower Back, Back Calf. Wow. Almost done. On a side note, we began discussing the helmet. Originally I was going to try to sculpt it in clay and go the typical three piece mold route. But now, with time creeping up on us, I don't know if that would be possible. So, if any of you out there that have already produced helmets, whether the be three piece or resin or whatever, contact me. skywlkr@cox.net. I want to propose a trade. We were thinking a full set of unfinished armor for 2-3 unfinished/unpainted helmets (number depending on if its resin or plastic). We would probably need 6-8 helmets, so you're looking at receiving 2-3 sets of armor. We are all friends of Richie (from Richie's Armor), because he's in our club and we've all purchased helmets and armor from him, so he can vouch for our trustworthiness. Anyway...LMK if this interests you.
